Opening hours
Academia Belgica is open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
Residents can arrive Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM (room check-in: 3 PM – 6 PM) (outside these times: please contact the secretariat). The Academia is closed on the following days: January 1 and 6, Easter Monday, April 25, May 1, June 2, June 29, July 21, November 1, December 8, 25 and 26. The Academia residence is also closed each year from August 1 to 31 for maintenance and upkeep.
The Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 5 PM.
How to get to Academia Belgica
From the airports
- by cab:
use only authorized cabs marked “Comune di Roma”. The normal fare to downtown Rome (within the Aurelian walls) varies between €40 and €80, including luggage and regardless of the number of passengers. As the Academia Belgica is located just outside the Aurelian walls, the fare may be higher. Academia residents can book a cab from the airport to the Academia with Taxi Coccia (tel. 00-39-329 263 4036 / e-mail: [email protected]) for 60/65€.
- by public transportation from Fiumicino airport:
- Direct train Fiumicino – Roma Termini train station “Leonardo Express”: 2 trains per hour from 6.37 AM to 11.37 PM, journey time: 31 min., price: 14€.
- Omnibus train with stops at Ostiense and Roma Tiburtina (attention: it does not stop at Roma Termini!): 4 trains per hour, journey time to Ostiense 48 min., price 8€.

- by public transportation from Ciampino airport: Bus to Roma Termini: every 15-30 min, journey time: between 40 min and 1h, price: from 6€ to 8€, depending on the company.
Line bus “linea 520” from the airport to Cinecittà (price: 1.50 € ; journey time 100 min). Take the Metro line A, direction “Battistini” and get off at “Flaminio” metro stop (with the same ticket).

- by public transportation from Termini via Flaminio: Take the Metro line A, direction “Battistini”. Get off at “Flaminio” metro stop, enter the park on the left. - by public transportation from Ostiense
Take the Tram 3 (departure point “Piramide”) get off at Piazza Thorwaldsen, in front of the Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (journey time approx. 45 min).Alternatively, take the Metro line B, direction “Rebibbia”, get off at Termini metro station.
